Iran warns US bases in region will be targeted if Washington attacks

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that all US military deployment centers and interests in the region would be targeted if Washington "makes a mistake" against Iran, according to Mehr news agency.

The warning comes as Tehran awaits a US response to its seven-day plan for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Mehr reported that the region is at "one of its most sensitive security junctures", with US military movements raising the possibility of escalation while political and mediation channels remain active.

The report emphasized that "Iran will not start the war, but if the enemy imposes it, Iran is ready to defend its security and territorial integrity."
