❗️Israel indicts two Palestinians over alleged plans to assassinate Ben-Gvir with explosive drone

Israeli authorities have indicted two Palestinians from the Nablus area in the occupied West Bank over alleged plans to carry out attacks, including the assassination of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir using an explosive drone.

The Shin Bet and police said in a joint statement that the two had engaged in what they described as advanced "military" activity since late 2023.

According to the indictment, the suspects allegedly accumulated weapons and ammunition, recruited additional operatives and conducted shooting training while discussing attacks targeting Israeli security forces.

Investigators said the pair began considering an attack on Ben-Gvir in 2024 after seeing footage of him arriving at the site of a previous attack.

One suspect allegedly proposed ambushing Ben-Gvir during a future visit to an attack site before later suggesting an explosive drone. He also allegedly sought assistance obtaining drone components from China.

The indictment further alleges that the suspects planned attacks using explosive vehicles and drones, shooting attacks and the abduction of Israeli soldiers. Both remain in custody pending legal proceedings.
