❗️Statement by Hamas:

"The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is closely following the political and diplomatic developments taking place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, along with the statements and positions issued by the Arab and Islamic states and the friendly countries in support of the rights of our Palestinian people.

The Hamas Movement expresses its appreciation for the clear positions expressed by Arab and Islamic states and many other countries worldwide, which condemn the aggression and ongoing violations against our people in the Gaza Strip and call for halting it, lifting the blockade, guaranteeing the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid, and holding the occupation accountable for the massacres, crimes of genocide, and other grave violations against civilians.

We also praise the Arab, Islamic and international rejection of the schemes of forced displacement, the annexation, and colonial-settlement projects pursued by the occupation government in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. We affirm that our people will remain committed to their land and national rights, and will resist all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or impose new facts on the ground by force.

While we welcome every serious regional and international effort that contributes to ending the suffering of our people and putting an end to the aggression against them, we emphasize the importance of translating these positions, meetings, and statements issued by Arab and Muslim leaders and ministers into effective political and diplomatic action, exerting genuine pressure to halt the occupation's violations and compel it to honor the terms of the agreed-upon understandings.

We stress that any political plans or initiatives currently under discussion must be based on respecting the will of our Palestinian people and their inalienable national rights, particularly their inherent right to self-determination, end the occupation, and establish their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."
