US President Donald Trump's 'Board of Peace' is expected to present a six-month, $2.45 billion 'recovery' plan for Gaza during a meeting of its members on Wednesday, Axios reported.

According to the report, which cited a copy of the proposal, the 66-project plan outlines projected spending on temporary housing, debris removal, hospital repairs, economic recovery and the deployment of a multinational security force.

The proposal puts the estimated physical damage in Gaza at $35.2 billion and projects that full reconstruction and recovery will require around $71.4 billion over the next decade, Axios reported.

It also includes plans to repair border crossings, restore electricity and water systems, deploy 25,000 portable solar power kits and permanently seal tunnels beneath locations identified for priority reconstruction projects.

The Trump administration told Congress in late July that it was providing more than $206 million for a proposed Gaza 'peacekeeping' force, marking the first major US funding commitment toward the stalled plan to rebuild the devastated enclave.

The report said the 'Board of Peace' and the Palestinian government have yet to secure the full $2.45 billion, but remain confident that donor countries will provide the funding.
