❗️​US threatens global blockade on Iranian aviation, targeting refuelers and foreign airports

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday issued a sweeping ultimatum targeting Iran’s civil aviation sector, threatening to completely sever foreign airports, fueling providers, and ticketing agencies from the US dollar system if they service Iranian aircraft.

​Speaking to CNBC, Bessent declared that starting 23 September, Washington will impose severe secondary sanctions to enforce a total international shutdown of all 27 commercial Iranian carriers.

​"If they land, you cannot provide them with fuel, you cannot provide them with landing services, you cannot sell them tickets, or you will be knocked out of the dollar system," Bessent warned.

​The standard US weaponization of global financial infrastructure aims to escalate the economic siege on Iran, weaponizing the dollar's clearing system to bully foreign nations into compliance.

The move comes shortly after Washington added all remaining unsanctioned Iranian commercial airlines to its sanctions list.
