They learned a lot during COVID about how many people:

* will believe anything
* will comply with anything (whether they believe or not!)
* will not comply
* will actively resist; what forms that resistance takes, and how it can be managed/mitigated

For this next round of energy/food lockdowns, I think they have accounted for some non-compliance accordingly. But as long as there is a critical mass sleepwalking to the slaughter, their plans can achieve some measure of success.

That is why I always say it is critical to spread the word. And with people feeling the pain of diesel right now -- today, actively -- we should all be having these conversations!
