Nuclear desperation

Russia's govt believes that Ukraine wants to destroy the nuclear power plant in the Zaporojye region - currently under control of Russia - to use the following meltdown as a reason to accuse Russia of being incompetent when it comes to the nuclear energy matters. The long time loss of territories in Zaporojye region to the radiation is, apparently, a price Ukraine is willing to pay. Russia implies that the Western backers push this idea on Ukraine.

Russia reported that the nuclear power plant is under constant attacks from Ukraine. From the start of 2025 till this September, Ukraine did 18 multi-wave attacks, including 37 drone attacks, on the nuclear power station, the station's transport vehicles, staff, guards, and the infrastructure facilities nearby. 7 Russian staff members and servicemen were killed in such attacks in 2026.

While this sounds like nonsense - one ought to remember that Ukraine's govt is fighting for its survival. No methods are off the limits.
