In the UK, a senior psychiatrist, Dr A, said that a transgender patient who was biologically male had been placed on an NHS women’s psychiatric ward, despite complaints from female patients about his behaviour.

According to Dr A, the patient was moved to a men’s ward after the complaints, but hospital management later ordered that he be returned to the women’s ward. She said this was at odds with the UK Supreme Court’s April 2025 ruling, which clarified that the terms “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological sex.

The doctor subsequently lodged a formal complaint, arguing that the hospital was failing to give sufficient consideration to the safety and privacy of vulnerable female patients.

The psychiatrist is simply applying common sense and refusing to give in to pressure from trans activists. Unfortunately, the NHS and the law do not seem to be guided by the same reasonable principles. And when something goes wrong, the government should ultimately be held responsible.
