🧕 Protests erupted against school restrictions on the wearing of the hijab (Islamic headscarf). In September, Azerbaijan amended the uniform regulations in public schools to prohibit additional clothing that conflicts with the prescribed uniform or with the secular principles of education.

⚠️ The Ministry of the Interior reported that in Baku, some citizens clashed with school staff, caused damage to schools, and attempted to disrupt classes. The measure has been denounced as religious persecution against the predominantly Muslim population.

📵 Amid the protests, users reported difficulties accessing Instagram and TikTok, and some stated that they could only access the platforms via virtual private networks (VPNs).
