🚨 Cuba commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Barbados Massacre, an attack that claimed the lives of 73 people
On October 6, President Miguel Díaz-Canel led a pilgrimage to the Revolutionary Armed Forces Pantheon at the Colón Cemetery. Floral tributes from Army General Raúl Castro, the head of state, family members, and the people accompanied the tribute. 🕯️🇨🇺
📌 On October 6, 1976, two bombs destroyed Cubana de Aviación Flight CU-455 shortly after it took off from Bridgetown, Barbados. The attack claimed the lives of 73 people: 57 Cubans, 11 Guyanese, and 5 North Korean citizens.
🔴 Fifty years later, Havana brought together officials and family members to honor the victims of the attack on civilian aviation that claimed the lives of citizens of three nationalities.
