🔥 Brazil: El Niño Fuels Fires in the Amazon

🌳 The El Niño climate phenomenon has caused a severe drought in the Brazilian Amazon, triggering 12,562 forest fires in September alone. This figure represents a 74.2% increase compared to the same month last year.

📈 According to official data, the cumulative number of fires this year is nearing 30,000. The rapid spread of flames during the current seasonal dry spell is dangerously exacerbating the damage caused by deforestation and human activity in the region.

🚨 Weather forecasts warn that there is a 90% probability that El Niño will reach extreme intensity by 2027, which would exacerbate the drought.
