🤖 Telegram is adding support for suffixes in bot usernames.
New methods for managing secondary bot usernames have appeared in TDLib, while Telegram Desktop now includes logic for determining a bot's status based on its username suffix. The client currently handles five variants: app, agent, ai, game and gay.
A secondary username does not replace the main one. Telegram Desktop checks the ending of the first username in the list and uses it to determine the bot's status label. The list of allowed suffixes is provided through Telegram's server configuration.
Management is currently implemented in TDLib through addBotSecondaryUsername and deleteBotSecondaryUsername. Adding a secondary username is available for bots the owner is allowed to manage, provided they have Telegram Premium. Each bot can have one secondary username, and the number of bots with such usernames is limited by a server-side parameter.
