🇺🇸⚡️ — Most Americans oppose betting on elections, military operations and government decisions through prediction markets such as Polymarket and Kalshi, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The survey found that 69% of Democrats and 61% of Republicans oppose election betting, while 65% of Americans oppose wagering on military actions and 63% oppose bets on government decisions. 93% of Democrats and 89% of Republicans said members of Congress and their staff should not bet on political events.

The findings come amid concerns over insider trading, market manipulation and national security risks.

Although Polymarket and Kalshi say they have safeguards against misconduct, lawmakers are pushing for tighter restrictions.
