🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — The U.S. State Department has kept Iran on Tier 3, its lowest ranking, in its 2026 Trafficking in Persons report, accusing Tehran of continuing to recruit and use child soldiers while failing to take meaningful action against human trafficking.

The report alleges that the IRGC and its Basij paramilitary have coerced Afghan migrants, including children, as well as Pakistani, Syrian, and Iranian minors, into armed groups.

Washington further accuses Iranian officials of enabling trafficking abuses without accountability and claims that more than 850,000 Afghans were detained and deported in 2025 without reported trafficking screenings.

The report also cites Iran's continued material support for Yemen's Houthis (Ansarallah), whom the State Department accuses of actively recruiting and deploying child soldiers.
