🇺🇸⚡️ — Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says Nidal Hasan, the perpetrator of the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, will be publicly executed by a military firing squad at Fort Hood on December 3 at 1 p.m., the same time and location as his attack.

Hegseth said the execution would be carried out by soldiers with rifles, marking the first such military execution since World War II. He noted, "I kind of like the mentality we had in World War Two, which was win."

Hegseth said the execution will be public because people need to understand that such attacks carry "serious consequences."

Asked whether Hasan had made any final requests, he replied, "Don't care. We'll see him on December 3rd."
