🇨🇳🇺🇸⚡️ — Chinese hackers have impersonated U.S. AI experts, including former White House official Lynne Parker, in an effort to steal passwords from AI specialists at think tanks, universities, defense contractors and law firms, cybersecurity firm Proofpoint said.

The group, dubbed “TA419,” has targeted U.S. and Japanese organizations since at least 2025, with Proofpoint linking it to China based on its malware, attack infrastructure and targeting patterns.

In the latest campaign, hackers proposed AI-related collaborations before directing targets to password-stealing websites.
