🇷🇺🇪🇪⚡️ — Russia's border guards have detained the Cypriot-flagged cargo ship Västerbotten in the Gulf of Finland while it was en route to Estonia's Sillamäe port, Estonia's Police and Border Guard Board confirmed.

The vessel was transiting Russian territorial waters under a Russia-Estonia-Finland agreement allowing ships to use the route. Estonian authorities said they have received no explanation for the detention.

In 2025, Russia detained the tanker Green Admire after it left Sillamäe. Estonia has since decided to route ships to and from the port through its own territorial waters.
