🇪🇺⚡️ — The European Commission has urged EU member states to reduce gas and electricity consumption to help contain rising energy prices amid disruptions to global supplies caused by the war in Iran, according to POLITICO.

In a September 25 letter to EU energy ministers, Commissioner Dan Jørgensen called for demand-reduction measures to remain in place “for as long as necessary,” warning of constrained supplies and volatile prices.

He stressed, however, that there are currently “no immediate risks to security of supply.”
