🇾🇪❌🇾🇪🇮🇷 — Yemen’s Saudi-backed PLC government accused the Houthis (Ansarallah) of deploying Iranian air defense weapons modified into cruise missiles, warning that they pose a serious threat to civilian aircraft operating over the southern Red Sea.

Military spokesperson Colonel Majid Abdullah Al-Nuzaili claimed that IRGC experts in Yemen helped modify the weapons, which are launched from Hodeidah and can remain airborne for up to 25 minutes.

He said their thermal guidance systems can attack “any heat source” without distinguishing between military and civilian targets, potentially endangering commercial flights, UN aircraft, and humanitarian operations.

He warned that the use of these weapons “cannot be considered a purely Yemeni domestic matter” and called on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) to address the threat.
