Calibre ebook manager adds AI-powered fiction writing game

The latest update to Calibre, the open-source ebook manager, adds an AI-powered writing game. Calibre v9.15 introduces a “Create Your Own Adventure” mode that, per the release notes, lets you build a fictional world and hand control of it to an AI that responds to your choices to manage it in real time. “This is a little different from the usual run of calibre features,” the changelog notes with, with understatement, saying it began as a way for developers to test the AI backends present in the manager before becoming something “something fun to use”.
