Exchange Server AD FS Modern Authentication: Expanded Outlook mobile support

Microsoft has extended AD FS-based Modern Authentication in on-premises Exchange Server to Outlook for iOS and Outlook for Android. Modern Authentication (also called OAuth 2.0) lets mail clients obtain short-lived access tokens from Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) instead of repeatedly sending usernames and passwords. This closes a client gap for organizations that already use AD FS Modern Authentication on desktop Outlook and the native Mail apps on Apple devices. Hybrid Exchange deployments are not in scope; Microsoft still expects those environments to use Hybrid Modern Authentication with Microsoft Entra ID.
