Middle Eastern funds are expected to hold the majority stake in a new multi-billion-dollar oil deal involving Russian and American interests, according to a New York Times report.

The Trump administration said the proposed deal aligns with U.S. foreign policy goals and could help lower energy prices.

The United States may acquire a 15% stake in the purchase of Lukoil assets.

Additional negotiations include large-scale oil contracts involving Trump's Middle Eastern allies.
