PART 3: Premature Profits
Another question that came up frequently was: “Why do I see profit/loss on Storm, but the order didn’t execute and my margin was returned?”
• It all comes down to signing speed. The Storm Trade interface is designed for the standard case where a transaction is signed and processed before a sharp (~1%) price move occurs.
• However, signing through the wallet is not instant and may be slowed down by TonConnect or the wallets themselves. Those few seconds are critical during high volatility.
• Storm starts displaying profit/loss in the interface as soon as you click the Open Position button. Between clicking and signing the transaction, the interface shows a projected position and expected result.
• During this period, a notice is displayed that operations on the position are unavailable until the transaction is fully processed on-chain.
In cases of strong slippage — which is meant to protect traders from incorrect executions — the contract automatically returned the margin to traders.
