Yoshimoto: Naikan
Naikan (Japanese: 内観, lit. 'introspection') is a structured method of self-reflection influenced by Shin Buddhist principles. The term first appears in the work of the Shin Buddhist thinker Kiyozawa Manshi (1863–1903) to refer to a form of ethical and religious introspection.[1] The practice of naikan was taken up by Kiyozawa's followers and developed in numerous directions.
Influenced by these modern developments, as well as by his experiences in ascetic practice, the Shin Buddhist cleric Rev. Yoshimoto Ishin (1916–1988) developed a form of therapy in the 1940s which he also called naikan.[2][3]

A lot of people feel entitled to things. They play the victim, and they feel hard done by when the world doesn't go their way. Everything is filtered through a lens of me, me, me.

A great way to help with this and to undo the ego just a bit is with the Japanese Buddhist method of Naikan.

Naikan is an introspective therapy, and it's developed by Ishin Yoshimoto, where Naikan literally means 'looking inwards'. But this is not some vague and sentimental thing, but it's done with rigour and with structure. It all starts with intention, where you choose someone or something important to you, for example, your spouse, or your child, your parent, your community, your job, or whatever. And then you ask yourself these three questions.

First, 'What have I received from them?'

Second, 'What have I given to them?'

And third, 'What troubles or difficulties have I caused them?'

That's it. That's all there is to the therapy.

Naikan doesn't get you to list all of the ways that somebody might have hurt you. It doesn't wallow in grievances. Instead, it asks you to see yourself as somebody who has received endless and unearned kindness. We start to remember the meals that we got without any thanks, the teachers who put up with our foolishness without any irritation, and the friends that we have wronged but never actually apologised to.

Naikan flips the moral debt upside down, but it also flips your ego upside down as well. Because this is all to do with the Buddhist idea of dependent origination, which is the idea that nothing arises by itself. You are held, you are shaped, and you are sustained by a thousand invisible hands. And in the world obsessed with entitlement, Naikan asks us to appreciate what is given to us all the more.

RE:Dox
https://github.com/CAPCOM-TD-OSS/REDox

High-performance, token-based structured data engine for .NET. A core component of REX, the technology behind CAPCOM's next-generation game engine.
RE:Dox is not just a JSON serializer. It parses structured data into a compact, fixed-size token DOM / IR, then uses that structural index for reading, editing, format conversion, serialization, deserialization, and automatic parallel deserialization.

JSON / JSON5 / CBOR / MessagePack / TOML / XML / HTML / CSV / INI / DOX
↓
Compact token DOM / IR
↓
Reader / Writer / Serializer / Deserializer
↓
.NET objects, JSON, CBOR, MessagePack, TOML, XML, HTML, DOX, ...

The same token representation acts as both a compact parsed document model and a common structural layer shared by serializers, converters, and supported formats.

Namira VPN

Sina

⚠️ Termination Notice

Good morning, everyone.

Over the past few months, we have done our best to develop and deploy `NAMIRA VPN`, investing huge and tremendous amount of time, effort, and resources into the project.

We had to think about every critical aspect and every part of the project for making sure the experience are fluent and seamless for the users

But at the end it became a failure, a big failure that i didn't expected but it gave me a lesson and i learned a lot from that

I learned that launching a business specifically for Iran not goin to make profit, this subject are not related to the government businesses and businesses which are not interacting with the customers and mainly intended for specific users ( private equities )

These days i barely even have time to take care of my own hair, let alone dedicate the time and energy required to keep a business running. Unlike programming, where most things can eventually be resolved by fixing bugs, there is no simple fix for an incorrect business strategy or an unsustainable business model.

NAMIRA VPN Project was my first and last project targeting the Iranian market, I learned a lot from that and at least i can prepare my plans for the next phase of my life without any unnecessary distractions.

Thank you, everyone.

Brandolini: Brandolini's Law

Brandolini's law (or the bullshit asymmetry principle) is an Internet adage coined in 2013 by Italian programmer Alberto Brandolini.[1] It contrasts the considerable effort of debunking misinformation with the relative ease of creating it in the first place. The adage states:
The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.[1][2]

The challenge of refuting bullshit does not come just from its time-consuming nature, but also from the challenge of defying and confronting one's community.

Gin for PostgreSQL
https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/gin.html
GIN stands for Generalized Inverted Index. GIN is designed for handling cases where the items to be indexed are composite values, and the queries to be handled by the index need to search for element values that appear within the composite items. For example, the items could be documents, and the queries could be searches for documents containing specific words.
We use the word item to refer to a composite value that is to be indexed, and the word key to refer to an element value. GIN always stores and searches for keys, not item values per se.
A GIN index stores a set of (key, posting list) pairs, where a posting list is a set of row IDs in which the key occurs. The same row ID can appear in multiple posting lists, since an item can contain more than one key. Each key value is stored only once, so a GIN index is very compact for cases where the same key appears many times.
GIN is generalized in the sense that the GIN access method code does not need to know the specific operations that it accelerates. Instead, it uses custom strategies defined for particular data types. The strategy defines how keys are extracted from indexed items and query conditions, and how to determine whether a row that contains some of the key values in a query actually satisfies the query.
One advantage of GIN is that it allows the development of custom data types with the appropriate access methods, by an expert in the domain of the data type, rather than a database expert. This is much the same advantage as using GiST.
The GIN implementation in PostgreSQL is primarily maintained by Teodor Sigaev and Oleg Bartunov. There is more information about GIN on their website.
