Quantum computer maker IonQ buys cybersecurity startup Elisity
Quantum computer maker IonQ agreed to acquire cybersecurity startup Elisity in an all-stock deal valued at up to $1.3 billion on October 12. 💻
The purchase is designed to protect corporate networks and artificial intelligence models from emerging threats. Back in July, IonQ bought semiconductor maker SkyWater Technology for $1.8 billion. 🛡️
Elisity brings more than 100 clients in healthcare, finance, and manufacturing, and chief executive officer James Winebrenner will continue to lead the business after the deal closes in the fourth quarter. 📊
