Robotaxi operator Waymo expands to Singapore 🚀

On October 6, 2026, autonomous vehicle company Waymo announced plans to launch its driverless ride-hailing service in Singapore by 2028. Backed by a record of over 20 million fully autonomous rides, the company is bringing its electric fleet to its first market in Southeast Asia.

In February 2026, parent company Alphabet raised $16 billion at a $126 billion valuation to fuel its global growth, following earlier testing milestones in the United States.

In Singapore, Waymo will compete directly with established local transport providers like Grab and ComfortDelGro in a busy mobility market.

You will be able to book rides through the Waymo app starting in 2028, though employees working at Google's local office could be the first riders during internal testing.
