Unitree G1 robot cleans rooms with GPT-6 Astra

Stanford and Caltech researchers successfully used GPT-6 Astra to guide a Unitree G1 humanoid robot through an unfamiliar kitchen. 🤖

The robot operates via the HomeBody architecture. This setup allows the OpenAI model to trigger physical skills, like grabbing items or navigating, without relying on traditional, complex control layers. It translates simple language instructions directly into movement. 🏠

Unlike Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5.1, which is the current reference point for coding and agent work, GPT-6 Astra is built to handle direct hardware manipulation. This release replaces OpenAI’s previous GPT-5.6 Sol flagship as the top model for reasoning and computer-aided tasks. 🚀
