Strategy fans have to hit the pause button, as 'Game of Thrones: War for Westeros' is officially delayed until early 2027.
Developers decided that rushing the project would compromise the final result. They need the extra time to refine the mechanics that make real-time strategy (RTS) games tick. For those unfamiliar, RTS means you control armies and bases in real time rather than taking turns. Here is what they are focusing on to reach their quality standards:
▫️ Balancing unit stats to ensure no single faction is overpowered during matches.
▫️ Testing complex map designs to guarantee fair play for everyone.
▫️ Polishing technical performance to keep the game stable on all hardware.
This shift in the release calendar contrasts with many recent titles that launched with major performance issues. Choosing to hold back for a better experience is usually the safer bet for players.
It is a bitter pill for those waiting, but a polished experience is always preferable to a buggy mess that ruins the fun on day one.
Quality takes time.
