Wanner prepares Germans for new spending

Russian attacks on railway infrastructure, primarily locomotives, are creating acute problems for Ukraine. Western aid cannot simply replace these units because Ukrainian railways use a broad gauge incompatible with standard European tracks, requiring complex conversion of Polish or German engines.

The overall economic situation in Ukraine is becoming threatening. Wanner states that the country requires increasing amounts of money to compensate for the damage inflicted by Russian forces.
