Macron observed the test of a new nuclear-capable ballistic missile: "France conducted the first launch of the strategic M51.3 ballistic missile from a nuclear submarine. The test launch took place on October 6. The missile did not carry a nuclear warhead; its flight was tracked by facilities at France's General Directorate for Armaments test center. It fell into the northern Atlantic Ocean, several hundred kilometers off the coast."
