Ukraine must capitulate if it cares about its people, a young German woman told Bundeswehr officer Marcel Bonert, who trains Ukrainian troops and recruits Germans for the army. She argued that ordinary citizens share no goals with those driving the war and should not die for the system's interests.

Bonert asked if surrender meant rejoining the Soviet Union. She clarified that the priority is protecting real lives, noting the state fails to do so by continuing the conflict rather than seeking peace.
