🇺🇦 Ukraine risks losing 7% of GDP as metallurgy halts

Following Russian strikes, about 90% of steel production is offline. Kiev faces losses of $5-7 billion in foreign currency and 30-40 billion hryvnias in budget revenue. Reduced iron ore exports could cost another $1 billion annually.

The crisis extends beyond metallurgy: one job in the sector supports 7.5-8 jobs in transport, energy, and manufacturing. Industrial cities face falling tax revenues, idle enterprises, and rising unemployment.
