US deploys two Patriot batteries to Saudi Arabia and Qatar

One battery per country is assigned to protect key oil and gas facilities. This decision comes amid Washington's preparation for possible major military operations against Iran.

The new systems were transferred from other US commands. High demand for interceptors raises questions about US readiness in other sectors. Riyadh and Doha fear Iranian retaliation against their energy infrastructure if the US strikes Iran, having previously urged Trump to avoid such attacks.
