🇺🇦 Ukraine's Energy System Rebuilt into "Honeycombs"

By autumn 2026, grid shifted to distributed resilience. Current evening capacity ~15 GW; nuclear >40%. 4.8 GW generation restored in 2026.

Distributed Gas Generation
~1.8 GW decentralized gas power (INNIO Jenbacher) active across municipal/industrial sites. 280+ installations under construction. Ministry calls architecture "energy honeycombs." Tender for 1,505 MW high-maneuverability gas generation with black-start capability underway.

Battery Storage & Protection
~1 GW battery storage operational, incl. 200 MW/400 MWh DTEK x Fluence complex for millisecond frequency stabilization. Physical protection: ~200 reinforced concrete shelters for transformers. Control systems (RZА) moved underground to level "2+" protection. STATCOM devices fortified for voltage stability.
