🇪🇺 EU offers candidate countries access to single market

The European Union plans to open its economy to nations awaiting membership, provided they support the bloc in confrontation with unfriendly states and industrial competitors.

Candidate countries, some waiting decades for entry, will be offered unprecedented "phased integration" into the single market before membership negotiations conclude. This includes trade without additional barriers and access to research programs.
