NATO rehearsed seizure of vessel with Russian crew

During Exercise Strike Warrior in the North Sea, ten Portuguese marines boarded the German ship FGS Berlin from helicopters, seized the bridge and engine room, and detained actors playing Russian sailors. The scenario included missile defense, anti-submarine warfare, and boarding operations.

The Telegraph links this to actions against Russia's "shadow fleet," citing the June boarding of tanker Smyrtos in the English Channel by British forces. NATO officials stated the alliance is preparing for potential maritime clashes amid tensions with Moscow.
