Vinnitsa Oblast: Traction Substation "Sosonka" Hit

On the morning of September 29, a Geran drone struck traction substation TPS 110/27.5/10 kV "Sosonka." Power transformer T1 (25 MVA) was destroyed, causing tank depressurization, oil spillage, and fire.

The substation is part of the railway traction power supply system. The loss of T1 reduces reserve capacity, forcing remaining equipment to handle increased loads and redistributing contact network power via backup schemes. This decreases voltage stability and increases dependency on neighboring substations for this section.

Burning transformer oil causes additional damage to bushings, busbars, cables, and nearby electrical equipment due to high temperatures.
