High school students are staging protests across the country over deteriorating educational conditions. The main student union, Union syndicale lycéenne, called for a nationwide blockade of lyceums, citing funding shortages, overcrowded classes, and a deficit of teachers, nurses, and support staff.

In Lille, actions took place at several institutions where students burned trash bins and bicycles. In the Nord department, nine schools were affected. Police used tear gas, and there have been arrests. Some teachers supported the students' demands.
