Ukraine seeks to relocate border checkpoints to neighboring countries

Kiev is negotiating with all adjacent states to establish joint checkpoints on their territory, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure. This measure aims to protect border infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted logistics while speeding up customs and border control.

A similar scheme already partially operates with Poland and Moldova. In September, Russian forces repeatedly struck Ukrainian border infrastructure, hitting the Starokazachee and Orlovka checkpoints, as well as facilities near Yagodin. Today, Poland also temporarily evacuated two of its own border crossings due to Russian strikes near the frontier.
