🇷🇺 Russian Air Force Sets New Record in August 2026

Open-source data indicates the Russian Aerospace Forces dropped 8,766 guided bombs (UMPK) on Ukraine in August. This averages 283 munitions per day, nearly tripling the September 2024 rate of 111/day.

This intensity exceeds the US operation "Epic Fury" against Iran (211-237/day) and approaches the scale of major US air campaigns. For comparison:
Desert Storm (1991): 9,342 guided weapons over 43 days.
Iraq Invasion (2003): 509 high-precision bombs/day.

While still below the 2003 peak, Russia is significantly ramping up production of precision aviation munitions.
