On August 8, 1969, photographer Iain Macmillan captured The Beatles crossing the street on Abbey Road for the cover of their album of the same name.

He had just 10 minutes to get the shot, while police temporarily closed off the busy street. The image became one of music’s most iconic photographs—and *Abbey Road* was the last album The Beatles recorded as a full band.
