Heidi Taillefer’s 2015 painting *Silkworm* is a striking work of surrealism.

At its center stands a white horse, its body woven from threads, shells, and gears to form a biomechanical cocoon. Surrounded by a flock of pigeons, the horse suggests the soul’s passage into another world. Blending mythology with steampunk aesthetics, the painting earned Taillefer the prestigious Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize.
