Present Simple vs. Present Continuous
Here's a quick look at two fundamental tenses in English: the Present Simple and the Present Continuous. Understanding when to use each is key!
Present Simple
(حال ساده)
We use the Present Simple for:
Habits and routines: Things you do regularly.
Example: "I drink coffee every morning."
(من هر روز صبح قهوه مینوشم.)
Facts and general truths: Things that are always true.
Example: "The sun rises in the east."
(خورشید از شرق طلوع میکند.)
Schedules and timetables: Fixed events, like train times or class schedules.
Example: "The train leaves at 9 AM."
(قطار ساعت ۹ صبح حرکت میکند.)
Structure:
Positive: Subject + Verb (add '-s' or '-es' for he/she/it)
Example: "She works in a hospital."
(او در بیمارستان کار میکند.)
Negative: Subject + do/does + not + Verb
Example: "They don't play soccer."
(آنها فوتبال بازی نمیکنند.)
Question: Do/Does + Subject + Verb?
Example: "Does he like pizza?"
(آیا او پیتزا دوست دارد؟)
