Sentry Trading Engine Upgrade
I just did a deep dive into the Helius documentation and maximized all of their enhanced and priority features across Sentry's trading engine. Here's what changed:
Faster Trade Execution
Swaps now route through Helius Sender, which dual-paths your transactions to both Solana validators and Jito simultaneously. This means your buys and sells land in ~1.5 slots instead of waiting through the standard RPC queue. Faster fills, less slippage.
Dynamic Priority Fees
Previously Sentry used fixed priority fees for every transaction regardless of network conditions. Now I pull real-time fee estimates from the Helius Priority Fee API before every transaction. During low congestion you pay less. During high congestion your transaction actually lands instead of failing and retrying. Smarter fees = better landing rates + lower costs.
Smarter Token Data
Token metadata and pricing now pulls from the Helius DAS API as the primary source, with existing providers as fallbacks. Faster lookups, fewer failed requests, less dependency on third-party rate limits.
Optimized Compute Units
Transactions are now right-sized based on actual compute consumption rather than generous fixed limits. This directly reduces the SOL cost of every transaction the bot sends on your behalf.
Real-Time WebSocket Monitoring
Sentry now uses Helius WebSocket connections for instant on-chain event detection. Pool activity and balance changes are pushed to the bot in real-time instead of being polled on intervals. This means the flow signal engine and trading agents react to market movements the moment they happen, not seconds later.
Webhook Infrastructure
I've also wired in Helius webhook support for real-time wallet monitoring, enabling push-based notifications for on-chain events as I continue to build out Sentry's capabilities.
All of these changes are live now. Same Sentry, faster and cheaper to trade with. This was an update to our plumbing - I'll be working on updating the flow, UI, and UX in the near future.
