⚠️JUST IN: ZachXBT traced the stolen funds after a video of a elderly victim who lost $3.05M (1.2M XRP) from their crypto wallet went viral.

The victim imported their cold wallet seed phrase into a hot wallet, allowing attackers to steal the funds, which were laundered through OTC channels.

😔UPDATE: The elderly victim who was social engineered out of 1.2M XRP (~$3M) has started a YouTube series documenting his life after losing his retirement savings.

He says he and his wife had just retired last year with the $3M, but after the scam, he’s had to return to a normal lifestyle sharing how it feels to start over after losing everything.

The individuals who phished a Coinbase employee to gain control of the official X account contacted us and provided proof of the breach.

They now claim they’ve lost access, and the phishing post has been deleted.

❄️BREAKING: Tether (USDT) has frozen 22 wallets across Ethereum and TRON, totaling $13.4M.

Most of the wallets appear to have interacted with Tornado Cash. The largest single freeze was a wallet holding $10.3M.

USDT continues freezing more wallets DAILY. If you believe your funds could be at risk, it’s safer to exchange them.
