As for the situation here, unfortunately, this week has been especially difficult. There have been several horrific attacks.
A major attack took place at Gaza Port, where 9 people were killed and 12 others were seriously injured. Then, just two days later, another terrible attack happened at the Municipal Park, a public garden where children usually gather and play on some old playground equipment. Sadly, 6 people were killed and many others were injured.
I honestly don't understand why public places where innocent people gather are being targeted. It feels like they are trying to cause as many casualties as possible, even in places where ordinary families and children should be able to feel safe.
One of the most heartbreaking things now is that even our children are being deprived of the simplest parts of childhood. Children in Gaza are reportedly being prevented from flying kites, with those flying them being treated as potential targets. Imagine how painful that is , even something as innocent as a child playing with a kite has become frightening.
They have taken away so many simple things from our lives: safety, electricity, freedom of movement, and even the ability of our children to simply play without fear. We are still suffering greatly from the lack of electricity and basic services.
Food prices are still expensive, although thankfully they are somewhat better than they were before.
We are trying to remain patient and continue our lives as much as we can, but honestly, it is becoming harder every day.
