✨Insights from Amazon's Tech Event✨

This month, I had the opportunity to delve into the cutting-edge world of artificial intelligence at an event titled "Generating the Future: Introduction to Generative AI" hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The event was an eye-opening journey into the capabilities, applications, and challenges of this transformative technology.

Here's a quick rundown of what I learned:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) → any technique that enables machines to mimic human intelligence and perform tasks such as problem-solving, learning, and decision-making.

2. Machine Learning (ML) → a branch of AI that uses computers to automatically learn from data and improve their performance on tasks.

3. Deep Learning (DL) → a subset of ML composed of deeply multi-layered neural networks that perform tasks like speech and image recognition.

4. Generative AI → a type of AI that can create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music, by mimicking or expanding upon existing patterns.

5. AWS AI Tools:
● Sagemaker → a cloud-based machine-learning platform that allows to build, train, and deploy ML models at scale.

● Amazon Bedrock → a fully managed service for building and scaling generative AI applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) and other foundation models (FMs).

● CodeWhisperer → a code generator powered by machine learning that provides AI suggestions directly within the IDE and through the command line.

● Amazon Q → a fully managed, generative AI-powered assistant tailored to your business needs, capable of answering questions, providing summaries, generating content, and completing tasks based on enterprise data.

● Code Catalyst → an integrated service on AWS designed to help software development teams go from planning to production faster.

● PartyRock → a fun and intuitive hands-on feature within the Amazon Bedrock Playground, serving as a shareable generative AI app-building tool.

So, what does the future hold for us?

1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) → AI systems that are designed and trained for a specific task or narrow set of tasks.

2. Artificial general Intelligence (AGI) → AI systems that behave in a human-like way across all tasks.

3. Artificial super Intelligence (ASI) → AI that is smarter than human intelligence in every aspect.

I've recently gone through 10 articles discussing necessary qualities for software engineers. Here are the top 10 qualities followed by top 10 suggestions to improve them:

Choose the right time and person to ask targeted, open-ended questions and express gratitude for their response

One of the most famous content creators in the Uzbek language, SUBYEKTIV, has released an almost 4-hour-long video reflecting the lives of Uzbeks who are currently working for tech giants in Silicon Valley.

I enjoyed every second of the exclusive mini interviews. The guests have already accomplished what I aim to do in the next five years. Their recommendations have the potential to save me valuable time and prevent me from investing efforts in the wrong direction.

Initially, I started watching the video to focus on recommendations on how to get into Google, but I ended up noting down suggestions on Goal Setting, Personal Development and Professional Success.

I translated them into English and summarized for future reference. It appears that I'm already following the most commonly emphasized recommendation, #9 🙂

I'm Sam from Angren, Uzbekistan. I am a Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) student at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK and am currently participating in a 1-year exchange program at Concordia University in Canada.
