#Grammar
حالا بیاین یه گرامری که زیاد توی این بخش از 2 Broke Girls استفاده شده رو با هم برسی کنیم!
📚 Grammar: Present Perfect
A useful grammar structure that appears several times is the present perfect:
have/has + past participle
We often use it for something that has happened recently or has a result/connection to the present.
The script uses it several times:
“I’ve been trying to eat better lately.”
Here, have been trying is actually the present perfect continuous:
have + been + verb-ing
It describes an activity that started in the past and has continued recently.
Another example:
“You may have given me diabetes.”

#poems

vocabulary:
🥀 despair: a complete loss of hope; the feeling that things will not improve.
🥀 elate: to make someone extremely happy or joyful. In the poem, “if not elate” means even if you are not happy or joyful.
🥀 parted: separated or divided from someone or something.
📚 Grammar:
“While” + Present Continuous
The poem repeatedly uses while to connect two things happening at the same time! It can mean “during the time that” or “as.”
“While nightly stars are burning...”
“While evening pours its silent dew...”
“While winter sheds its grief in snow...”
Here, while + clause introduces the situation happening alongside another idea.
For example, in everyday English:
While I was studying, my sister was watching TV.
While the rain is falling, the plants are getting water.
💡 In the poem, while is especially effective because the poet contrasts the speaker's sadness with the continuing cycles of stars, sunshine, winter, and nature.

🌸 Grammar❗ Relative Clauses

One grammar structure that appears very frequently throughout the transcript is the relative clause, especially clauses beginning with who, which, and that.

We use relative clauses to give more information about a person, thing, or place without starting a completely new sentence.

1. who → usually for people
> “...the gods, who would dwell beside her...”

2. who → describing a person/people
“...powerful beings who would rule the cosmos...”

3. which → describing a thing
“The helm of Hades, which made its wearer invisible.”

💡 Easy rule:
who → people 👤
which → things/animals 🏺
that → people or things ✨

The story says:
“...take away the cruel tyrant before they should all be destroyed.”
Here, should is used in a formal/old-fashioned way to talk about something that might happen in the future, especially something undesirable.
Modern English:
👉 “Take away the cruel tyrant before they are all destroyed.”
More formal/old-fashioned:
👉 “Take away the cruel tyrant before they should all be destroyed.”
