The so-called Saga’s Sword, found by a girl in Lake Vidöstern, Sweden, where it may have been deposited as an offering in the 7-8th Century. The wooden hilt was spectacularly preserved, with a simple carved palm swell. It appears to be of a transitional style, with a metal guard, but a cocked-hat type pommel.
