🇷🇺 Russia Ready to Support Africa’s Energy Security

Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev has reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to cooperate with African countries in gas exploration, production and supply, as well as to offer comprehensive solutions for the power sector.

Russia stands ready to contribute to Africa’s energy security by providing reliable energy supplies, advanced technologies and expertise, while supporting the development of sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure across the continent.

🔹 Comprehensive energy solutions

Speaking on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week in Moscow on 16 October, Minister Tsivilev noted that African countries represent long-term markets for Russian technologies.

Russia can offer integrated solutions, including modernising existing hydropower plants, building solar and thermal power stations, developing electricity grids, supplying substations and transformers, and establishing energy management and dispatch centres.

🔹 Developing local expertise

Beyond supplying energy resources and equipment, Russia supports the development of Africa’s domestic energy industries through the training of local specialists, employment opportunities and skills development.

📍 Russian Energy Week was taking place in Moscow from 14 to 16 October, with the support of the Russian Government, the Ministry of Energy and the Moscow Government. The forum is organised by the Roscongress Foundation.
